We have transformed a very poorly drained plot at Bethesda allotments from a rubbish tip to a greenhouse and planting area over the past few years. The allotments have no running water so we have installed three large water tanks. The allotment allows us to grow even more food for the community and raise plants from seed for The Glade Community Garden, which makes that project more sustainable. The facilities can be used by volunteers or local groups for their own gardening projects or volunteers can help us with sowing, planting, weeding and watering as part of regular sessions or on an ad hoc basis.
We are currently applying for Heritage Lottery / Local Places for Nature funding to convert another rubbish tip within the allotments into a fruit garden. If you would like to donate to the project or volunteer with us see the links below:
